Nothing of yours is on our servers
Not the file, not a word of the conversation, not the fact that the two of you spoke. transferatu does not secure the copy in the middle. It removes the copy in the middle.
The usual route
YouFriend- Your file is written to hardware you have never seen.
- A copy of it stays behind after both of you move on.
- Every word you type lands in a database somebody can read.

YouFriend- The file goes to their machine, never onto ours.
- Nothing stays behind, so there is nothing to leak or hand over.
- Your words and your calls take the same line, and no server is told the conversation exists.
All we hold
An account, so two paired people can find each other. That is the whole list:
- Your email, name and picture.
- Who you are paired with.
- An address for each of your own machines, so a friend's app can dial it.
No analytics, no crash reports, no usage numbers. The desktop app sends none, and this website counts page views without a cookie.
The trade
We keep nothing, and that costs you three things:
- You both have to be online. Write to someone who is switched off and it waits on your machine, then goes when you are both on.
- Your history lives on your own computer. Another machine of yours starts a conversation empty until the two have seen each other.
- Unpairing forgets, it does not revoke. Keys already handed over stay handed over, which is also why there is no group chat yet.
The transport is iroh, an open source peer-to-peer stack. It takes a direct path between your two machines wherever the network allows one. Where it does not, a stateless iroh relay passes the encrypted bytes along: it cannot read them, and it keeps nothing. The full boundary is in the privacy policy.
How you use it
Pair once, then just send
Only the first step is any effort, and you do it once per person. After that, whatever you drop in the window goes straight to their machine, at any size.

Your account carries one reusable twelve-character code. Send it once, they paste it in, you say yes. Nobody reaches you who was not let in.

Drop it in
Every friend gets a conversation. Type in it, paste a screenshot, drag in a file or a whole folder. Or right-click the file where it already sits, in Explorer or Finder, and never open the window.

It lands on their machine
They get a desktop notification and take it, or turn it down. The bytes are checked at both ends. Months later it is still in the conversation, and search will find it by file name.

Call them on the same line
Every conversation with a friend has a phone button and a camera button. The call goes straight from your computer to theirs, like a file does, and nothing about it is kept anywhere. Share your screen beside your camera, and keep sending files while you talk.
Share from Windows and you can let your friend draw on your screen. Their lines show up on your real monitor, where they drew them, and fade after three seconds or stay until one of you clears them.

transferatu installs a Send button into these four. Select your objects, press it, they open in your friend's scene. The same plugins also move files between two applications on your own computer, with no recipient and no network.
Next, and not built yet: Cinema 4D, 3D Coat, Modo, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, Unreal Engine 5, Unity. The order is not locked and the list is not finished.
